Industrologic, Inc., announces the release of their UOB, Universal Opto-Isolator Board.
The Industrologic UOB is a single channel opto-isolator board assembly that allows microcontroller and other logic circuits to be interfaced to both input and output signals that require opto-isolation.
The UOB is designed to allow an 8 pin DIP split-darlington optocoupler to be installed in an 8 pin socket, and the standard UOB comes with a 6N139 or equivalent high gain split-darlington device. If required for a particular application, 6 pin darlington optocoupler typical of the 4N33 may be installed in 6 pins of this socket as well.
The UOB comes with a 4.7K resistor for opto input current and a 10K resistor for the opto output pullup resistance. A connection is provided to power the split-darlington device and the pullup resistor.
The UOB originates as a 4 board assembly that can be separated into individual boards by snapping the boards apart along a pre-cut score line. Each individual board is then 1 inch wide, 2 inches long, 0.6 inch thick, and contains identical components and functions.
