Industrologic T51-LED
Alphanumeric LED Display Board for the T51
The T51-LED is a front panel alphanumeric LED interface module for the Industrologic
T51 Single Board Computer. It has been designed to mate with the T51 IO connector
and mounting holes, and includes four bright green alphanumeric LED digits. These two pairs of
digits are separated by two discrete LED's arranged to form a colon for alternate
use as a time display.
Summary of Features
- 12 pin .1" female header to provide quick plug-in connection to the T51
- Screw and threaded spacer kit to mount the T51-LED not only to a T51, but to mount
both boards to enclosures and panels in a variety of configurations
- Two Liteon LTM8647 or equivalent 0.56" height green 2-digit 14 segment alphanumeric displays
- 2 discrete individually addressable "colon" LED's
Mechanical Specifications
Single-sided .062" FR-4 glass epoxy printed circuit board.
P.C. Board assembly has holes available for mounting to T51, enclosure, or #6 standoffs.
P.C. Board dimensions: 2.00 inches by 2.50 inches
P.C. Board Dimensions:
Mounting the T51-LED
The T51-LED is connected to a T51 by plugging together the 12 pin IO
connectors on each board and using 1 inch spacers between them. Included
with the T51-LED is a set of 6-32 threaded spacers and screws that allow
this to be easily done, and to mount both boards to a panel or enclosure.
The 1 inch spacers can be installed in either direction so that the screw
thread is sticking out of either the T51 or the T51-LED. This allows the
two boards to be connected together and to be mounted facing either toward
or away from the mounting surface. The only other hardware that is needed
is four more 6-32 screws with heads matching your panel and application.
Electrical Specifications
Operating environment:
Temperature: 0-50 degrees Celsius (32-122 Fahrenheit)
Humidity: 30 to 80 percent, non-condensing
Power supply voltage: T51 unregulated supply voltage (8 to 18 volts DC)
Power supply current: Approximately 300ma with all display segments and both LED's on
Using the T51-LED
The optional Enhanced Tiny Machine Basic for the T51 includes special instructions
to easily drive the T51-LED, and is highly recommended.
The LED displays on the T51-LED can be programmed in a variety of ways by the T51,
but the programming language must always generate a character set for the displays,
and requires an intimate knowledge of the displays. Refer to the Liteon LTM8647
data sheet for programming information. The standard T51 Tiny Machine Basic is
not suitable to drive the T51-LED.
The T51-LED uses only four of the T51's logic level signals, leaving five lines
available to connect to other devices.
